Graduation will be on May 28, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the South Florida Fairgrounds.  Olympic Heights will have NO SCHOOL on that day. Students will return from the memorial day holiday on Wednesday, May 29th.

Summary of Events: 

  • April 26 Grad Bash Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Orlando FL
  • April 29 Senior Awards, 6:00 pm (Invitations sent to those receiving awards)
  • May 16 and 17 Senior Exams (10 + Absences)
  • May 15 Last Day for Seniors
  • May 21 Rapids Water Park
  • May 22 Senior Checkout (Mandatory OHCHS Gym 8:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m.)
  • May 24 Graduation Rehearsal (Mandatory OHCHS Gym 9:00 a.m.)
  • May 28 Graduation (South Florida Fairgrounds Ceremony starts at 9:00 but all seniors must be in attendance by 7:30 am.) 

Requirements to Participate in Graduation Ceremonies:

A senior must successfully complete the twenty-four (24) required credits and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 by May 17th, 2019 to be able to take part in the May 28th graduation.  There are no exceptions to this District policy.  Seniors who complete summer work may attend the graduation ceremony sponsored by the school district for all summer school graduates. 

Important Information

Grad Bash Behavioral Expectations

All seniors and their belongings will be searched prior to boarding the buses.  All seniors are subject to Breathalyzer testing if deemed necessary by any administrator or chaperone.  Any issues concerning alcohol or drugs will result in a suspension from school and could result in you losing your privilege to participate in the Graduation Ceremony.  Please remember that you are representing Olympic Heights High School on this trip to Universal Studios.                                                                                                                                             

*On April 26th students will meet at the OH bus loop and leave by 3:15pm for Orlando. Students will arrive back to Boca around 5:30am.  Students are on a TLE for periods 5 & 6 only.

Dress Code:  NOT ALLOWED:  High School name/logo shirts, jerseys of any kind, tank tops or undershirts, clothing with excessive holes or shredding, basketball shorts.

Bags aside from drawstring bags HAVE to be 8.5 x 5.5 (the size of a half sheet of paper)

Rapids Water Park

Tickets will be on sale in Ms. Foster’s office until Monday, May 13 ONLY!


A school bus will transport 50 students or you can drive on your own.  Sign up for the bus with Ms. Foster.

Senior Checkout

All seniors must report to the gym on May 22 between 8:00 am and 10:30 a.m.  You will receive a numbered ticket and sit in the bleachers.  Students will be called down by groups of 25 to get checked out.  You will go to the various tables including obligations, records and transcripts, guidance, Herff Jones caps and gowns distribution, graduation agreement, and graduation tickets.  You must leave campus immediately after completing check-out!

Cap and Gown Distribution

Caps and Gowns will be distributed on May 22 during the senior checkout.  If you have not ordered your cap and gown, you must purchase on line at or visit their store at 1405 N. Congress Avenue, Suite 9, Delray Beach, FL  33445. Call their store for hours of operation at 561-266-9477.

Graduation Ticket Distribution

Tickets for graduation will be given out at senior checkout.  Each student will receive 8 tickets.  For those of your needing additional tickets please e-mail Ms. Foster @ by May 15.  Extra tickets are not guaranteed.


Graduation Rehearsal May 24 at 9:00 a.m. in the OHCHS Gym

If you do not attend rehearsal—you will NOT be allowed to walk at graduation.  DO NOT BE LATE!


GRADUATION  May 28 at 9:00 a.m.

Graduation will be held at the South Florida Fairgrounds Expo Center.  Seniors are to report to the expo center no later than 7:30 a.m. appropriately dressed.  Girls should wear dresses or dark pants and dress shoes. Boys should wear a white or cream dress shirt, dark dress pants, dark shoes, socks, and neckties. Absolutely no tennis shoes! Gowns should be ironed and ready to wear; caps should be carried to the lineup area.  Be sure your name is written inside your cap.


All pictures must be taken at home or before students report to the Fairgrounds for the graduation line-up.  No one will be allowed to take pictures after the ceremony. 


Following this ceremony, which will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m., diplomas will be distributed.   Only the students who present their ticket showing they have returned their gowns to Herff Jones and/or cleared all senior obligations will receive their diploma.  Students scheduled for an AICE or AP exam after May 28th will receive their diploma after their exam.


Doors will open for guests two hours prior to graduation.  Morning commute traffic may be difficult, so please plan accordingly. Be prepared for traffic parking delays.  NO ONE will be allowed into the exhibit hall during the processional- the doors will be closed at 8:50 a.m.  A door will reopen following the processional, pledge of allegiance and anthem at approximately 9:15 a.m.  We must maintain the dignity of our graduation ceremony.  Parents are also asked to encourage appropriate behavior at all activities so that everyone involved will benefit from the celebration.


New this year, all guests entering the exhibit hall will be wanded and all bags checked.  Guests are encouraged not to bring any bags to speed up the entry into the exhibit hall.  There will be a “No Bag” Line for those without bags.  Please do not bring flowers or balloons as this are not permitted inside.
